Today marks the 24th anniversary of the passing of Officer Jon C. Cook, who was killed in the line of duty while responding to an officer’s call for assistance to arrest a violent felon.
We lost a son, partner, brother, uncle, friend, and an amazing police officer that day.

After a man was robbed while trying to sell his trading card collection, SFPD used technology and RTIC to identify the suspects, make arrests, and recover evidence. The SFPD is seeking the public's assistance in solving six homicides that occurred between Jan 1974 and Jun 1975.
The first known victim, Gerald Cavanaugh, was found deceased on January 24, 1974, near the area of Ulloa Street and Great Highway. Investigators believed all the victims were targeted because they were gay, white adult males, and the victims met the suspect shortly before they were killed in isolated coastal locations.
