Notable pairings: -Played with Brooks on Saturday. The first thing I was reminded of again is that the top guys just hit it differently. The contact is flush and the sound is different. You feel it with guys like Scottie, Rory, the quality is different than other pgatour pros. He’s still not prime Brooks but he played really solid. It was my first time playing with him in a tournament and it was a fun round. He can look stand offish at times but he was cool to play with. Plays fast, friendly and really enjoyed my round with him. -I also played with Niklas Norgaard. When I shook hands with him on the first tee, I felt like I had met him before but couldn’t put my finger on it. Then he reminded me that he went to my rival high school LCC for a yr as an international student when we were 14! I had played a decent amount of rounds with him that yr. It was really cool to see him again and see we’re living out our dreams. He has speed and strength for daysss. His swing, and the way he hit the ball reminded me of Henrik Stenson. Like he’s physically assaulting the ball and the ground. -Marcel Siem has one of the best short games I’ve ever seen. Def Top 5. I love when guys are able to make big swings from the bunker but the ball pops up nice and soft. Super hard to master.
