So, as promised we are checking out Azam TV Max streaming. The Spain vs Cape Verde game just started and it seems to be working so far. It wasn’t smooth sailing because it first gave an error. Had to close and restart to make it work.

Update: It’s working fine on desktop, no buffering or nothing. However, there’s a hair in the soup, the commentary is in Swahili and you can’t change it. Says “Swahili, English” but it looks like they mean the commentators may use some English words at times.

Turns out the English commentary is on another channel. I’ve seen terrible UX design but this Azam is on another level.

If you are on NetOne, there is a good chance you missed this. WhatsApp calls appear to be working again on NetOne’s dedicated WhatsApp bundles after months of being restricted to just messages, photos and documents. We tested it ourselves and both voice and video calls went through. For anyone using WhatsApp to keep in touch with family outside the country, this is a welcome change. 6/ The real test, of course, will be live football. We’ll be checking how stable the Azam stream is during the Spain vs Cape Verde game later today. So far though, Azam appears to be in order.

7/ If you’ve tried signing up for DStv Stream or AzamTV Max, tell us how it went. We’re especially interested in whether the DStv issue is affecting everyone or only some users, devices or networks.

If you are a parent with a child in ECD or primary school, a teacher, school administrator, or simply wondering why more primary schools are being asked to buy tablets, this is worth understanding. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has adopted 'STELA' (Smart Tablet for Early Learning Assessment) as the official tool to assess learners. As a result, tablets are becoming a key part of how children's learning and development are assessed in schools. What is STELA? Why is it being rolled out nationwide? Who is paying for the tablets? And what does it mean for schools, teachers, parents, and learners? ed We unpack how the system works, who is behind it, and why it is becoming a key part of education in Zimbabwe. Elon Musk has become the world’s first trillionaire after SpaceX went public on the stock market. SpaceX shares started trading at about $135 and quickly went up on their first day. Because of that, the company’s total value jumped to around $2 trillion. Elon owns a big part of SpaceX, so his wealth is now estimated to be over $1 trillion based on that value. To put it in perspective, that is almost 20 times the entire economy (GDP) of Zimbabwe in a single person’s paper wealth.

🚨 BREAKING: The US government has ordered Anthropic to cut off two of its top AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, from every "foreign national" worldwide. That includes users here in Zimbabwe. To comply, Anthropic has switched both models off for everyone, even US customers, for now. If you were in doubt about the advancements the latest Anthropic models are, this make it clear. The reason given by the US gov is national security. The government says someone found a way to "jailbreak" Fable 5 (trick it past its safety rules). Anthropic says the flaws involved are minor and that other AI models can do the same thing without any trick. If you use Claude: the other models (Opus, Sonnet, Haiku) are not affected. Only Fable 5 and Mythos 5 are down. More on the Anthropic website here: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Google has finally explained how its AI search systems decide which websites deserve a citation in AI Overviews. The answer reveals why generic content is becoming less valuable, why local knowledge matters more than ever, and what creators need to do if they want to remain visible in the age of AI search. If you publish content online, understanding these changes could make the difference between being cited by Google's AI or being ignored entirely.
