here's the reality. we have to protect our trademark. i've had the uncomfortable discussion with our legal team about it very recently. we're not big enough to just not care. however the backlash of us taking down fan content is enough to take a step back and make sure we act properly. while there is a lot of infringing use of our IP, not just copyright, but trademark, the actions we take can have a dramatic effect on how we are portrayed. this isn't something we (or any company) would typically even comment on, or even reveal this kind of concern. but I'm about transparency, and i provided everyone with a very clear cut fan-content policy to follow. so at some point in the not so distant future, we will be manually reaching out to all those who are infringing to politely ask them to stop, and if there's no response, only then will we take action, but even then the action won't be much more than just having infringing content removed, regardless of monies earned with the use of our IP. we're not here to ruin peoples lives, we're here to protect our creation, our ip, and our trademark.
not a fun thing to comment on publicly, but i'm all right doing it because i welcome transparency and have offered up more than enough leniency along with providing clear policies.
