Dear diary entry:
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to process my frustration and anger around people losing their lives, their families, their communities, and more in the US (and frankly, the world all-up.)
I want to yell at people. I want to force irrational people to feel empathy. Why shouldn’t people be able to live happily and freely without fear of simply existing on this soil?
The more I see people rejecting reality, like video footage of a panicked woman being shot while being surrounded by masked, intimidating strangers, the more I know efforts spent attempting to lead these folks to a compassionate conversation on social media are wasted. Trends and clicks are driven by rage, debate, and negativity. It doesn’t lead to any meaningful change.
I will continue to beat the drum of voting in local elections and getting involved with local communities. Volunteering time to better our world and the lives of people around us. Things that lead to actual, positive change for our neighbors.
So many of us want to be a part of something greater, but greater in the sense of bettering the world and improving lives, including our own.
Being there for one another. Building each-other up. Fixing problems. Simply living being happy.
No matter how hard it is, never stop pushing for a better future for ALL.
Much love.
