Four FDNY Firefighters were injured Monday morning battling a three-alarm fire in Hunters Point, Queens. Members faced heavy fire, roof extension, multiple roof levels, and difficult access conditions before bringing the fire under control.

Last week, FDNY members used training, teamwork, and technology to rescue two swimmers in distress off Rockaway Beach after lifeguards had gone off duty. Firefighter Michael Stothers spotted the swimmers by drone and deployed a flotation device. EMTs entered the water, and

Firefighter Patrick O’Leary of E226 helped bring one swimmer safely to shore. An off-duty lifeguard rescued the second swimmer. Both were transported in stable condition. The UFA commends all involved and reminds New Yorkers to swim only when lifeguards are on duty.
