UNNC recently held the Sino-German Cultural Week which included a series of campus events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of China-Germany diplomatic relations. Events included a German Lantern Festival workshop, recitation competitions and lectures on humanities.

UNNC recently co-developed a national R&D project into the development of a 3.0T cryogen-free magnet for brain imaging.
The project aims to develop magnets that provide more precise and higher resolution imaging along with a faster and more streamlined experience for patients.

A UNNC PhD team won Gold Award in the Eighth China Qisi Yongdong Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition with a semi-active car suspension system.
The vehicle suspension system has already been adopted by motorcycle companies including Niu, Ninebot and Kasawaski.

Dr K Cohen Tan, UNNC interim Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning, has become the first National Teaching Fellow outside of the UK. This award is in recognition of the outstanding impact he’s had on student outcomes and the Higher Education teaching profession.

UNNC recently co-organised the Ningbo-Nottingham City Life Art Exhibition at the Ningbo City Exhibition Hall. The exhibition used a collection of digital media and interactive technology to present a multi-dimensional comparison of Ningbo and Nottingham’s histories and culture.

Professor Yang Fujia, President of University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), passed away last month in Shanghai at the age of 86. The funeral ceremony was held on 9 August in Shanghai and was attended by mourners who travelled from across the country to pay their respects.
