Today we join @holtsmithsonfoundation in honouring the 50th anniversary of the passing of American artist Robert Smithson (1938–73) by highlighting a work from the Gallery's permanent collection.

Kai Liu’s work draws inspiration from Vancouver’s urban and natural landscapes.
Using bold colour, dynamic form and evocative compositions, Liu aims to capture the city’s unique essence and create a visual dialogue between the viewer and the site.
The Art Rental & Sales Showroom is open from Monday to Friday, 10 AM – 5 PM.
Appointments are encouraged.

This satellite lab is a collaboration between the Gallery and Material Matters at @EmilyCarrU.

While the exhibition is on view, the Material Matters team is hosting a series of workshops and public forums that will explore how textiles and design offer ways of understanding the world around us.
