In September 2025, Antler, North Dakota farmer Randy Fyllesvold tragically lost his life in a vehicle accident, leaving behind his wife, Kharra, their two sons, and a farm with roughly 1,400 acres of crops still waiting to be harvested.
What happened next was a remarkable display of community. Friends, neighbors, and fellow farmers from more than ten communities came together to help the family during their time of need.
Around 75 volunteers arrived with 12 combines, grain carts, and trucks, donating their time, equipment, and fuel.
Over the course of just a few days, they harvested Randy's crops at no cost to the family, ensuring that the season's hard work would not be lost.
Their generosity transformed a moment of tragedy into a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community stands together.
