The Ferry Road to Telford Road connection appears to take out a third of the fire station - it's a shame the roundabout can't be sorted out at the same time.

A possible solution to the Roseburn Corridor problem - widen it by acquiring some land to one side - and achieve some urban densification at the same time. Tram should not be an isolated engineering exercise - but a holistic urban planning opportunity. Groathill sketch:

Really pleased that both Trinity Mews housing and the Railway House in Newport on Tay received awards at the @Saltire_Society Housing Design Awards this week. These awards are rigourously judged by a panel of housing experts - and not 'just' architects. saltiresociety.org.uk/saltir…

The judges comments about Railway House: "The desire for the owner to ‘come home’ is well met, with a building seeming to sit in its place as if it had always belonged there."

And Trinity Mews: "The mews townhouses though apparently uniform, externally actually offer alternative ways of living internally, allowing for the occupier to inhabit at their discretion, according to their needs. An undeniable plus made from an unenviable negative."

Self-build is rewarding experience for builder and architect - our clients are extending the family home in the Grange and proudly sent this photo of their handiwork with exposed steel (from Andrew Turner) and Douglas Fir rafters.

Nice to have our front garden appreciated. It's a lot easier when you don't have to bend over.

Remembering that Edinburgh's The Mound is artificial too. It wasn't built on top of scaffolding though.#themound
