The risk is relevancy.
IMO, this is a solid rule of thumb when buying / registering ENS in general.
Digits will always be relevant.
So will popular dictionary words, currency codes, institution / brand names etc…
IbizaFinalBoss.eth? Not so much (or at all)
We overestimate ENS adoption in the short run, and underestimate it in the long run.
Eth isn’t going away, and neither is ENS.

But digits don’t get “old.”
Numbers don’t fall out of fashion and they aren’t open to artistic subjective interpretation.
ENS isn’t going anywhere. It has zero competition and is the only domain service on the defacto world computer for the entire planet.
ENS domains compliment pfp jpegs but they pale in comparison to the value proposition of 3 and 4 digit ENS. there is honestly no debate.
3digit ENS price will flip every single pfp NFT by many multiples.
