The “Old No. 1 at 50 – Celebrating the Spirit of Guy Clark” concert series, presented by the Guy Clark Family Foundation, marks the 50th anniversary of Guy Clark’s debut album Old No. 1, and brings a series of tribute shows and songwriter gatherings across Texas and beyond.
In these concerts, participating artists perform selections from Old No. 1 alongside their own original compositions, with proceeds benefiting the foundation’s mission of supporting songwriters.
In Austin on October 24, the tribute concert takes place at The 04 Center, featuring a lineup of regional singer songwriters such as Sam Baker, Rosie Flores, Kelly Willis, Verlon Thompson, Bukka Allen, Jack Barksdale, Mike Meadows, Waylon Payne, Taylor Rae, Macy Todd, and Graham Weber.
Then on November 6 in Rockport, the series joins the Rockport Songwriter’s Festival, with Rodney Crowell.
Finally, the celebration moves to La Grange for a two night run on November 14 & 15 at The Bugle Boy, headlined by Radney Foster.
These shows in Texas promise an immersive and heartfelt homage to a landmark album and its enduring influence in the Texas songwriting community.
