BC’s Health Officer is dangerously ignorant about the science of addiction Is her closed-mindedness related to the fact that several of her closest colleagues formed “safe supply” companies? Too big to fail? Note: No jurisdiction in the world has ever reduced a drug crisis by making a drug more readily available

Looking back, we now know that the BC Government: -Drove drug decriminalization and “safe supply” with no ongoing measurement of benefits or potential harms -Allowed Public Health leaders to form related companies -Ordered the immediate destruction of existing monitoring activities ONE WEEK after senior officials learned about them -And nearly all media and post-secondary leaders were silent Today’s Mass Addiction crisis could not have occurred if everyone simply did their jobs The silencing of drug addiction experts who criticize 'safe supply' nationalpost.com/opinion/sil… via @nationalpost @AdamZivo

Our highest loyalty doesn’t belong to people or parties. It belongs to principles. If you wouldn’t accept it from the “other side,” you shouldn’t accept it from yours. Integrity is upholding your values even when your own group violates them.

The best way to gain job security is not being the most knowledgeable person in the room. It's being the most reliable person in the room. Information is abundant. Dependability, helpfulness, and responsiveness are relatively scarce. We count on people who consistently deliver.

#STATEMENT : What we’ve just witnessed with the Cowichan decision is nothing short of a political disgrace. This isn’t a legal technicality. This isn’t a misunderstanding. This is a full-blown dereliction of duty by David Eby and his NDP government, and British Columbians are the ones paying the price. The judge herself stated, “It is notable that neither the Province nor Canada took the position that the Crown grants of fee simple extinguished Aboriginal title to the Claim Area.” In other words, your government didn’t even bother to defend the foundation of your land rights. They left the field without firing a shot. Let’s get one thing straight: the government didn’t even try to defend you. Neither BC nor the feds argued that fee simple land grants extinguished Aboriginal title. That’s not a clerical error. That’s a deliberate political choice. They stood down. They left the field. They left homeowners, small businesses, farmers, millions of ordinary people, completely exposed. And then, as if that wasn’t insulting enough, they waited six years. Six years of silence. And what do you get? Not a plan. Not legal protection. Not even a straight answer. No... you got a leaflet. A condescending, vague, bureaucratic handout delivered by a staffer, not even the Premier himself. That’s Eby’s idea of leadership. That’s his response to one of the most consequential land rulings in the province’s history: a flyer. This government has thrown the very foundation of land ownership into chaos. The court declared Crown-held fee simple land invalid in some cases. That’s not theory. That’s not debate. That’s now legal precedent. And because your Premier chose not to defend your rights, that precedent now sits there like a loaded weapon, ready to be used in Kamloops, and in every corner of this province where title hasn’t been extinguished. Let’s be clear: the legal and financial fallout from this ruling will be massive. We’re talking hundreds of millions in legal fees, compensation, and endless negotiation. Property values are at risk. Insurance will spike. Municipalities are vulnerable. Lenders are exposed. And investors will start running, not walking, out of British Columbia. But this goes deeper than just economics. This is about trust. About the basic expectation that your government has your back. That when a legal threat to your home, your land, your business appears, your Premier shows up and fights for you. But David Eby didn’t fight. He ran. He hid behind lawyers and leaflets. He watched this unfold for six years and said nothing. And now, when the damage is done, he’s pretending to care. This is the same pattern we’ve seen over and over again: mills closing, pipelines blocked, energy investment dead in the water, and now, private property rights? Tossed aside like they don’t matter. The NDP’s ideology is wrecking this province piece by piece, and this time, they’re coming for the land under your feet. I’ll say it plainly: the Cowichan ruling proves David Eby will not defend your rights. Not in court. Not in negotiations. Not even in principle. And if you think this ends here, you’re dreaming. This is just the beginning, unless we put a stop to it. British Columbians need to ask themselves one thing: When your government won’t defend your home, your business, or your land—what exactly is it good for? Let me be absolutely clear about what we, the Conservative Party of British Columbia, will do in the face of this outrageous failure by the NDP government. We will immediately change BC’s position to include the extinguishment of indigenous rights where they overlap with private property.. Not next month. Not after more “consultation.” Immediately. Homeowners, farmers, and business owners across this province deserve to know that their government is prepared to fight for them, not just hand over the keys and walk away. We will refer this issue to the Supreme Court of Canada. There needs to be a clear, binding legal answer to this fundamental question: can Aboriginal title override fee simple private property rights in British Columbia? Because right now, thanks to Eby’s cowardice, the courts are setting precedent without opposition. We’re demanding that Ottawa and Victoria put this question before the highest court in the land and stop playing games with people’s lives We will pause all negotiations that involve Indigenous title over privately owned property until legal clarity is secured. Full stop. No responsible government can sit at a negotiation table while refusing to defend the existing property rights of its own citizens. We will also bring full transparency to all other land and treaty negotiations. British Columbians have a right to know what’s on the table, what’s being promised, and whether their rights are at risk. This government has been operating behind closed doors for years. We will tear the cover off that process and make sure private property is never put on the chopping block without a fight. We will guarantee public assurance to homeowners. Not vague language. Not veiled legal jargon. A clear, written, public guarantee that their property rights will be defended, aggressively and without apology. We will not sit back while British Columbians are left to wonder if they actually own the land they live on. We will reinforce the protection of private property rights. Full stop. Property rights are the bedrock of a free society. If government can’t be trusted to defend ownership, it cannot be trusted with anything. The Conservative Party of British Columbia will stand firm, we will not allow this government to weaken or ignore the rights of landowners under the guise of political correctness or reconciliation theatre. And let me say this about the land-title uncertainty David Eby has unleashed: this isn’t just bad policy, it’s economic sabotage. Investors are watching. Families are watching. Businesses are hesitating. This cloud hanging over fee simple title affects confidence, economic growth, and the future of our province. It tells every person considering buying a home or starting a business in BC: you might not actually own what you pay for. And let me say it again: we will defend existing private property rights without hesitation. The people of this province deserve nothing less. The message the NDP has sent to Richmond, BC and Canada, is unacceptable. And under a Conservative government, that message will end. #BCpoli #cdnpoli
