I visited Jordan in person yesterday to see and learn about the aid we are getting into Gaza.
Thanks to the help of Crypto Twitter, we’ve raised over $500K with no incentives in the last year.
This post will dig a bit deeper into the process. Especially when donating to emergency causes like these, it’s extremely hard to find something reliable which is why I sought it out for myself. This is the first time I’ve helped fundraise on my account and put my reputation behind something of this sort.
The logistics are all handled by Human Appeal, a big global charity. They raise 8-9 figures every year and focus on many initiatives. They’ve been working in Palestine since 1991. For Gaza specifically we have many different types of help we get in: hot meals, clean water, food packages, hygiene kits, winter clothing and more.
In Jordan, Human Appeal work closely with JHCO, who work with the military. They are a big organization and help get the aid ready and into Gaza. This is either done through helicopter or with trucks through the border. This is then delivered to the Human Appeal staff members who live in Gaza which they then distribute accordingly.
In the last year we have proof of almost every distribution in form of pictures and videos. I’ve shared many, but will be publishing a full report soon.
With the ceasefire, which hopefully lasts, we are also working on getting different types of aid in such as prosthetics, mobile homes and more. Aid is as important as it was last month, and last year. The people of Gaza are still struggling and it will take a long time to rebuild, mentally and physically heal.
I encourage you to keep donating, even a little bit helps, as you can see the impact it has. As Ramadan is coming up, a reminder these are also zakat eligible.
ان شاء الله may your donations be accepted and you be raised in the ranks of the most high.
