I don't feel this way, not to invalidate how others feel though.
I have a 30 min walk to work, 30 mins back.
Do I come home, and feel a bit mentally drained? Yeah.
Do I need 2 hours to recover? No.
Maybe I just hit the jackpot by finding a career I love, at a company I like?
£35K salary sounds alright until you work out what it actually costs you.
You're not getting paid for 8 hours. You're selling your entire day. The commute. The lunch hour you can't use. The 2 hours on the couch recovering when you get home.
Add it all up and your real hourly rate drops to about £10.58.
The person who made your coffee this morning earned more per hour than you did.
They just didn't have to sit through a team meeting first.
