At @hackneycouncil Windrush Day event, I had the honor of leading a 1 of silence to remember the Windrush Pioneers we have lost. We paid tribute to Nellie Louise Brown who passed away at the remarkable age of 111 years old. It was a poignant moment with family members present.
On Thursday, we proudly hosted a special conference at the City Ground to mark #WindrushDay.
The event brought together over 100 people from across English football to celebrate the incredible contributions of the Windrush generation to our game. ❤️
Happy National Windrush Day!
It’s important to recognise the contribution and legacies of the Windrush generation descendants year-round, but today is still a special moment to reflect and commemorate the 77th anniversary of HMT Empire Windrush coming to Britain
