We found out yesterday that Alex Oprișan, our Account Manager at 101domain.com, had passed away.
Alex passed away suddenly at home. He was just 36 years old. As noted, he was a beloved and devoted father of Benjamin, cherished son of Ombreta and Daniel, loving partner of Lucille, dear brother of Andrei, and treasured cousin of Andrei Daniel.
And I must say, this news hit me as if I had lost a family member, a brother, even though my relationship with Alex was mostly business-related.
Alex was, without hesitation, a true friend in the domain industry – one of only three people there I would describe that way.
I always appreciated Alex's careful and detailed support. In his work, Alex was someone who always had his clients' best interests at heart. Not an ounce of envy, no self-importance, and never any giving up on clients who were unhappy with difficult situations – but always finding a way, with his thoughtful, well-crafted responses, to ease concerns and leave clients feeling heard and respected.
As 101domain is the world's best registrar for new gTLD launches, Alex would often give us a heads-up about promising domain opportunities, frequently including lists of domains he recommended. I very much appreciated that too.
Alex was truly a great guy – warm, genuine, and wholesome. He was a pure, bright soul and highly skilled at working with people. As Hani from 101domain, who informed us about Alex's passing, put it: "Alex really enjoyed working with each of his clients and was very passionate about his work for you." That energy was always apparent in Alex.
It's truly heartbreaking that he had to go so early.
Our deepest condolences to Alex's family, as well as to the 101domain team.
Farewell, Alex. Thank you, and I hope one day we'll see each other again, my friend.
