VIDEO | With the Asian Games in Japan and the build-up towards Olympic qualification looming on the horizon, Indian shooter Esha Singh is aware that expectations will continue to rise. Yet she remains committed to keeping things simple. "As I said, for me, our sport is very simple. We have to aim and we have to shoot. The biggest challenge is in our heads. I don't want to change anything. I'll just do my best to execute the same things," she said. Rather than focusing on distant targets, she prefers to take each competition as it comes. "I'm going to take it one step at a time. There are always big titles and major competitions, but one finishes and another begins. It's a continuous loop." "As I said, the names keep changing, but what you have to do doesn't change. You just have to keep executing what you've been doing in training." #AsianGames #EshaSingh #Shooting

VIDEO | Alongside Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker, Munich gold medallist Suruchi Inder Singh and fellow international Rhythm Sangwan, Esha Singh forms part of a group that has consistently challenged for medals at the highest level. Despite frequently competing against each other for podium places and finals spots, she says support within the squad remains strong. "I think shooting is an individual sport, not a team sport. But since we're together so often, I think we have a lot of mutual respect for each other. And I'm very sure we're always there for one another if someone needs support," she said. She added that while technical discussions often remain personal, the camaraderie is genuine. "We're all very supportive of each other. We travel together, we look out for each other, and I'm really grateful for all the girls on our team." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

VIDEO | Indian pistol shooter Esha Singh says the disappointment of missing out at the Olympics has played a key role in shaping her into a mentally stronger athlete, a transformation she believes is behind one of the best phases of her career. The 21-year-old Hyderabad shooter capped a memorable ISSF World Cup campaign in Munich with a gold medal and world record in the women's 25m pistol before adding a silver in the women's 10m air pistol, helping India climb to the top of the medal standings. "I had a lot of pressure, obviously, because you don't really know until the last shot what is going to happen. So I can say that I fought till the very last moment. And yeah, I didn't let loose or become overconfident, thinking that I had already secured the medals and that I was good. Nothing like that. I wanted to give my absolute best on that day, and that's what was going on in my head," Esha said. (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

VIDEO | There was a 742-day gap between the eighth and ninth BWF World Tour titles for India’s star doubles pair, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy. But anyone daring to call them inconsistent would get a response as sharp as a smash aimed at the body. The first Indian doubles pair to win the Singapore Open, the former world No. 1 duo came back from a game down to defeat Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri 18-21, 21-17, 21-16 in a 73-minute final on Sunday. It was the pair’s third Super 750 title and came after a period marked by injuries, four final defeats, and eight semifinal exits. “I wouldn’t call it inconsistency. On the contrary, I think we were quite consistent. To call the world No. 3 pair inconsistent, I think everybody beyond No. 1 should stop playing badminton,” Chirag said. VIDEO | IPL 2026: Vintage Virat Kohli stayed afoot and played a crucial knock to defend the IPL title for RCB during the chase against GT in the finals. Virat Kohli's childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma says, "That is what a lesson is for the youngsters to understand that it's not about power hitting only, not about hitting sixes only. If you are good with the technique, you can always score big and that is what Virat showed today also. If you have good technique, good temperament, that is what he has been doing for so long for his franchise as well as for Indian cricket. He has won so many matches for India showing this type of batting, and he is an example for the youngsters to understand and learn how T20 cricket is played." #IPL2026 #RCB #ViratKohli

VIDEO | Delhi: Wrestling Federation of India President Sanjay Singh on the Asian Games selection trials said, "We conducted fair trials. If someone has a problem, that's their issue, not ours. The weight category had not been decided, yet we still gave her (Vinesh Phogat) entry in the 53kg category based on her past performance record in that category. It is standard practice when an athlete has not yet decided which weight category they will compete in. In the end, I just want to tell her that she is always welcome. WFI welcomes her with open arms." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

VIDEO | Delhi: Wrestler Vinesh Phogat speaks to PTI and alleges bias and cheating in the Asian Games selection trials after losing in the semifinal, and vows to come back stronger. She says, "I am very grateful to the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court for granting permission. That is why I was able to compete on the mat today; otherwise, they would not have allowed me to compete on the mat under any circumstances. From the very beginning, I have maintained that the result should be decided on the mat, who is better and who is not. The decision was biased. I want to train so hard that even those who are cheating will be left behind. I want to improve to such an extent that, despite their cheating, they will not be able to defeat me. I will continue to work hard, train even harder, and perform even better." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)

VIDEO | Delhi: When asked how bright she sees the future in the 53 kg category, wrestler Vinesh Phogat says, "The future is promising. Our young athletes are very talented and train hard. However, the system needs to support them. There is a great deal of talent, but it can only be fully utilised if the system provides proper support. Otherwise, Olympic medals will continue to come through individual effort and luck, as they have in the past." (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)
