WATCH: Tens of thousands of AFT members, families & allies came together in peaceful rallies across the country to say loud and clear: power belongs to the people—not to kings, billionaires, or parades of ego. #NoKingsDay
Wow! The day is not even close to being done, but look at some of these photos from #NoKings rallies across the United States! Keep tagging us in your photos on your favorite social media platforms. We are so proud to be in this together with you.
Federal funds are vital to every KY school district.
But because it's especially targeted to kids with the greatest needs, this funding is most important in higher-poverty districts, most of which are rural in KY.
This map shows the districts that could be hit hardest by cuts.
NEW: U.S Dept of Education funding is a substantial part of public school budgets in KY, suppling over $1 billion a year for:
- school meals
- low-income students
- children with disabilities
- and more.
Cutting these funds would harm our kids, our schools and our families.
KY 120 United AFT has begun our transition from Twitter (its real name) to Bluesky. Beginning March 1st, 2025, we will use that platform instead of this one. Please join us there. @AFTunion@AFLCIO@rweingarten@LizShuler@aflcioky

Today, we observe #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay, joining people around the world to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust. The UN General Assembly designated January 27 —the anniversary of the 1945 liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau—as an annual day of commemoration.
Working families are struggling to make ends meet while billionaires & corporations rake in record profits. Giving those at the top more tax breaks won't lower costs for families, it will just make our economy even more rigged.
Renewing the #TrumpTaxCuts is a scam.
Universal pre-K will strengthen our education system; it’ll grow our workforce; and it’ll boost the entire economy. It’s time to make this a reality for our kids.
Unions support our workers, their families and the success of our country. As a pro-union Governor, I was thrilled that @rweingarten and @LizShuler were at the table for a workforce discussion at #WEF25.
