Friend said that theyβre sad that the nearest tour location is too far away and they donβt have the means to travel and I said βthen donβt go, no oneβs forcing youβ so I think Iβve actually single handily solved all the problems in the world??

Told my friend I was happy to accommodate them when they had an unexpected change in their schedule and we had to move our lunch from Monday to Wednesday, and someone on twitter spit on me and shot me and killed me because βaccommodations are for disabilities/medical conditionsβ

Responses were turned off, but there are issues in peopleβs lives that donβt stop for two hours just because they want to see a concert.
Which isnβt to say that is the case for every person who is upset about the rule. Some people do just want to film. But there is nuance.
Why else do you need a phone for 2 hours at a gig that you cant deal with before or after the show?

My take is that I think itβs perfectly reasonable to not want filming at a show. And I like the idea of living fully in the moment.
Ultimately, regardless of how anyone feels about it, Phoebe gets to choose what the rules are for her show. And I support that.

βWhat about Broadway plays, or movie theatersβ if someone needs their phone for a Phoebe Bridgers concert, they might not be going to plays or movies either.
Iβm not at the movie theater every day but then I suddenly need my phone at a concert. I donβt go to movies either.

I am a caregiver for a significantly disabled elder. Whenever I leave her, I have to be consistently available.
So I wonβt go to this concert. I just have to sit this one out. Which is OK, not everything has to be accessible for every person. But I can still be bummed about it
