Introducing Artist 361 | Novel Abraham 🇪🇷 Novel Abraham Yihdego is an Eritrean painter, illustrator and graphic designer whose work centres around portraiture, observation and human connection. Working primarily with pencil and pen, he creates detailed studies that capture the character, emotion and individuality of his subjects, from cultural figures and community members to everyday people encountered through his artistic journey. Alongside his work as a painter and designer, Abraham regularly shares his creative process and engages with his local community through live sketching and portrait projects. His artwork demonstrates a strong appreciation for craftsmanship, patience and storytelling, using traditional drawing techniques to celebrate people, culture and personal expression. Building @13amStudio | Week 13 My first update in five weeks. Consistency is always the plan but sometimes life has other ideas. There were opportunities outside of 13AM pulling at my attention. Nothing I'll go into detail on, but some with real temptation. Yet I'm still here, as determined as ever. While I went quiet on socials, a lot has happened behind the scenes. This week we’ll surpass 160 countries represented. Laos, Maldives, Eritrea, all added over the past few days. And we already have a further two scheduled. Another huge milestone and one that means we’re now just 22 away from 182. The point at which the online discovery phase ends and the physical journey begins. I’ve made the decision now to change how we approach the Final 13. Rather than leading that journey myself or alone, I'm in conversations with established travel content creators to front the Final 13 as a documentary series. The kind of names with serious audiences, real production experience, and the reach to turn this into something much larger than I could build alone. The project deserves maximum attention, someone whose entire platform is built around exactly this kind of adventure and I’m super excited at some of the potential people that have already shown real interest in the project. For brand partners, this also changes everything. The proposition goes from pure vision and potential to being able to attach your brand to an established creator with a proven audience, on a world-first achievement. Introducing Artist 360 | Ginar Ogbit 🇪🇷🇨🇦 Ginar Ogbit is an Eritrean-Canadian illustrator and animator based in Ottawa whose work explores movement, emotion and the shared human experience. Through expressive character work, gesture and exaggerated body language, her illustrations capture the subtle complexities of human feeling, inviting viewers to reflect on what it means to be human and the emotions that connect us all. After completing the Animation programme at Algonquin College in 2022, Ginar has gone on to build an impressive career across both animation and illustration. Her work includes collaborations with musician Christo Graham on projects such as Clown Riot, alongside contributions to productions including Hilda (Netflix), The Ghost and Molly McGee (Disney ) and Interrupting Chicken (Apple TV). Alongside her professional and freelance practice, she also teaches gesture drawing within the Animation programme at Algonquin College, helping to inspire the next generation of artists and animators. Ginar becomes our first artist representing Eritrea and our second artist representing Canada in Project 195.
