Great work, @senatorzellner, Mayor Strassburg and Council, and resident Amanda Shepler, who lead a push to save Kohler, as age and disrepair threatened its extinction.
This is a lifechanging project here, made possible by our Governor's NY SWIMS and support from the Legislature.

The much-discussed data center moratorium bill has passed the Assembly. My constituents – many hundreds of you – asked that I back this piece of legislation. I thank you for your outreach. I heard you.

Passed the Assembly today with unanimous support: My and Sen. Kavanagh's bill establishing a pilot program with @NYSERDA to fund residents' home weatherization and energy upgrades.
The goals? Save people money and ease access to better insulation and climate control measures. 🌎

With my thanks to Chair @DidiBarrett106, I am co-sponsoring her bill to impose a one-year moratorium on new data centers, create a utility rate class for large energy users, and require that data centers be powered predominantly by renewables.

✔️ Just passed the Assembly: My bill requiring e-bike manufacturers to equip the vehicles with head- and tail lights before they're sold or leased in NYS.
This puts the onus on bike producers and sellers, with the aim of keeping riders and others safer, especially at night.

Thrilled to break ground at the future Payne Park Aquatic Facility in NT! I brought Speaker Heastie here in '24 to learn from Mayor Tylec about the potential of this project to transform recreation, facilitate swimming lessons, and enhance wellness for generations to come.

The Speaker was impressed – and together, we committed $4 million in state funding to close the gap for Mayor Tylec and his team, who'd already secured millions for the effort, including from our federal partners and @GovKathyHochul. A big congratulations, everyone!

✔️ Restored Teacher Center funding
✔️ $2M for TeachNY
✔️ Free school meals for all
