This is my favourite field to scout this time of year. Every year around the anniversary of D-Day the poppies emerge on a patch of untilled ground, so I stop to reflect, and remember to be thankful for the opportunity to do what I do.

Planting trees and helping dad clean his truck out. Successful day still getting some planting done while on a rain delay and teaching the little guy early the importance of tree planting.

Does anyone know if the Pest Manager App is still supported? Recognizing the work put into the crop protection hub, I still like the app style along with ID portion of the app. Notice there’s newer herbicides not included currently so wondering the status @cowbrough #ontag

Well that’s a new one! I’ve had to lift the planter for rocks, but never for coyote pups. Mom was keeping a close eye on me and was quick to visit them once I’d moved on past the pups.

Replying to @14Ram
@14Ram has himself a little helper. He asks about a million questions in 15min and always wants to kick Dad out of the drivers seat… you’ll have to wait a couple more years buddy.

Any other Precision Planting folks out there find that medium flat corn seed is just miles better than anything else? I’ll run 99.8% singulation at 5 mph. Switch hybrids, & drop to 98.5% or less unless I slow down while also having to constantly play with vacuum numbers. Just me?

Overall I’ve been happy, or lucky with the traffic I’ve encountered on the roads so far. A couple goofballs but not too bad. Unfortunately the worst for nearly passing as I turn left has been @OPP_WR despite religiously signalling my turns. Thankfully no harm, no foul 😬 #ontag

Alright @WxOntario1 am I going to get wet around noon or is it just going to keep looking threatening? A full day of planting would have the finish line in sight

I swear we only work the farm next to the airport on weekends so I get to watch the gliders often. Admittedly it is a little unnerving seeing how low the tow-plane approaches over the field, with its tow hook dangling low behind. Dont think I’ve ever seen @PappleAviation though

For all the metrics you can observe and map on @PrecisionPlant 20/20 display, I’m amazed there isn’t an option to see a variety map. Sure would be handy for test plots & making notes. Is this available on a newer software version and I’m just a dinosaur running 2024.0.0?

Who’s up for a game of agronomy detective? Field was wheat last yr. Straw spread 20’ then raked before baling. Oats & peas planted & grazed by sheep in the fall. Any guesses why the variability in vol wheat now? Think I know why but would love to hear others ideas! #ontag #agchat

Well, there’s spots that look ok and spots that look 🤮. Saving as much wheat as we can, but giving some the kill shot today. More #korn I guess!

Sleep tight little guys. I feel like it might be a while before I see some corn poking up out of the ground, but we’ll at least have the bugs worked out #plant26

Really happy with how the spray trailer modifications went. Removed old poly inductor & built a 80/40 gallon stainless dual inductor. Jug rinse built in, just need to plumb tote fill lines. Mennonite neighbour & local shop did the fab, & added extra empty jug storage overhead 👌🏼

When I lived in the city, I’d be infuriated seeing gas prices fluctuate from morning to night. Seems the trend has made it to small towns. 1.61-1.65 last night in Wingham. This morning was 1.82-1.86, and now it’s 1.60-1.65. Really hosing the commuter needing gas to get to work

Wingham has stations got caught up in a price fixing & collusion scheme years ago. Kinda feels like the bad actors are at it again. I’m just glad I’m a procrastinator when it comes to filling up. #crooks

Has anyone attempted to repair this tab on a MaxEmerge2 row unit in the picture? Front piece that holds the seed tube guard in place snapped off and hoping to save the shank from replacement. #ontag

Murica talks a big game when they get breaks like this. Woulda been a lot quieter if the refs did their job.

Total detachment from economic reality for half the country.
Only about half of Canadians think it would be a bad thing if CUSMA came to an end. Think about what that means
