Product research is an incredibly important part of Amazon FBA (PL).
BUT.
People focus so much on that, they forget how important the product launch itself is.
You can have an amazing product, but if you don't launch it properly you may as well not bother...
Avoid these 5 mistakes 👇
1. Not ordering enough stock
The goal of a launch is to rank organically. You rank organically by:
- Having a high CTR & CVR
- Having a high ATC (add to cart) %
- Having a well optimised listing (think keywords)
- Driving more sales than your competitors (consistently)
For some reason every guru on Youtube says you should order 300 units to 'test' the market.
Which is nonsense.
You need have enough stock to drive more sales than your competition, and stay in stock.
A good product launch means you rank as wide as you possibly can for as many keywords as you can.
2. Pricing
Your product is brand new, you want to maximise all those things I mentioned above.
A good way to do this is by coming in at 10-15% below the market average.
The big players in niches like supplements are factoring in the first 2-3 months of a launch running at a loss.
They are happy to lose money, rank organically for 3 months and then slowly creep up the price.
Once your product is ranked, you're printing money.
3. Driving clicks from irrelevant keywords
Don't be tempted to stick every keyword under the sun in your PPC campaigns.
All you'll do is drive people to your product who won't convert.
This will kill your CVR, and damage your organic ranks.
Target the most relevant KWs for your product, drive as many sales through them as possible.
4. Not building an SEO optimised listing
You should be using tools like Data Dive from
@ByoungSFL to do all your KW research.
Those KWs need to be baked into your title, bullets, EBC and back end.
(DM me if you want a $50 discount for Data Dive, it's an incredible tool).
5. Not building a high quality listing
People spend thousands on their product, then they hire some fella from Fiverr to Photoshop it onto some stock photos.
It won't work.
Your listing needs to be the BEST in your niche, don't settle for less.
Speak to your customers in their language, focus on their pain points.
Highlight the benefits you know will resonate with them.
Make the customer feel they can only buy from you if they want something that aligns with their needs.
