ALT The bravest of the brave. SGT William W. Seay was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his sacrifice to save fellow Soldiers on August 25, 1968, while serving in the 1st Logistical Command in Vietnam.

ALT Answering the call. 
In the mid-1960s, the 1st Logistical Command was deployed to the Republic of Vietnam as the logistics command and control headquarters, providing multinational support for troops in contact. During our five-year tour in Southwest Asia, our strength grew to 50,000 soldiers.

ALT In 1962, the 1st Logistical Command moved for the first time to Fort Hood, TX, where they were assigned to III Corps. Once at Fort Hood, the Command resumed its training mission and participated in a wide range of logistical missions. #Army250 #1TSC75

In 1961, the 1st Logistical Command deployed to France, where they operated the base logistics command across seven depots and area port operations during the Berlin Crisis. #Army250 #1TSC75

ALT Our patch is quite impressive! In 1952, the quartermaster general first approved our patch. The white arrow on the patch points to what would be 10:30 on a clock, signifying that the mission is always accomplished before the eleventh hour. #Army250 #1TSC75

ALT #MedalofHonor We remember Sgt. William W. Seay and Sp4c. Larry G. Dahl on #NationalMedalOfHonorDay. They were mortally wounded because of their heroic actions on Aug. 25, 1968, and Feb. 23, 1971.
