This look at 1X’s Hayward factory layout highlights the level of vertical integration. By manufacturing Revo2 motors, proprietary tendons, and aerospace-grade battery packs in-house, 1X has slashed its "CAD to walking" development cycle down to just one month.
Capacity targets:
- 10,000 units/year (Current Hayward ramp-up)
- 100,000 units/year by the end of 2027

I won’t pretend to be an engineer or take any of the glory from the badass team here at 1X that has been turning raw earth into robots since I was in high school...
But I will give tremendous credit to my team for the work they do in designing this universe— from film/ sound design, to industrial design, designing and building websites, to writing endless copy, to partnering with the manufacturing team to design/build a craftsmanship check facility that is straight out of a movie (that we shot ourselves) and tell the story of some of the best engineers on earth who turn raw materials to robots.
Some of the best creatives on earth. I am so damn grateful.
