reading a book from an all-time favorite author and its not quite hitting the 5-star experience...not certain if i need more backstory, lore, the concept is cool but something isn't quite clicking for me 😩😩 having fun though bc marie lu KNOWS how to keep readers hooked💫

4 stars🌟publishes june 30, but i read an arc - there's a classic fantasy vibe mixed with a comedic fairytale plot, character chemistry between risa and javi was so there. intriguing setting, got me out of a reading sluump! (full book review coming soon) 🧙♀️🗡️🌳⛈️👑💖
