Important conversation between @25DavidPearson and @reshrums at yesterday's @mencap_charity#HomesNotHospitals conference. Urgent action needed to release 2000 people with a learning disability and autistic people from detention in mental health hospitals.
Interesting to see in print the government's three 'core objectives' for adult #socialcare. They are sensible and coherent, even if they do skip over the key issue of eligibility. A surprise, though, to see them at all after a year when social care strategy was largely avoided.
3.5 million people in England aren’t getting the social care they need. As a member of the @candsalliance, we’re asking MPs to come to the #ShowUsYouCare social care parliamentary event where they will hear from people who are directly impacted by social care.

Followed @Tanni_GT and our Care Minister Stephen Kinnock to set the scene for the conversation at #ITEC2025. Responsible relationships, with people at the heart, is the only way we can maximize the digital and technology opportunities to support and enrich lives.@1adass
Looking forward to setting the scene this morning to ask conference to work with us and people who draw upon care and support to build responsible partnerships so we can enrich lives with digital and TEC. Great opportunity, barriers to overcome. @1adass
Skills for Care CEO @oonaghsmyth gave evidence to the Health and Social Care Select Committee last week on the key factors that reduce employee turnover in the adult social care sector. Hear what she has to say...
Adrian the crisis in EDs is shocking and staff must be traumatised. The response surely must involve higher priority for community services and prevention including social care. Hospitals can improve but depend on other services to do better
