Teachers shouldn't have to cover classes, give up planning time, work 20 extra hours a week, take on extra tasks, etc. just to be considered an effective teacher or all in. Teachers give above and beyond already without it becoming the expectation. It's why so many are burned out

If you're a voter in CT, make sure you don't check any boxes next to this candidate's name. Let professionals do their jobs. Or should I say his/her job since third person is now a political agenda, @LeoraLevyCT ? #hypocrisy #inclusion

BREAKING: Yet another example of inappropriate classroom material in CT schools! Parents deserve to know what their children are learning, and forcing political agendas on young minds is WRONG. I am fighting for our kids & to end this WOKE nonsense. #CTSen
Imagine only having deep knowledge of the one thing in the bible you want to believe God condemned.πŸ€” Jesus spoke about and lived a life dedicated to love. You're hateful for no reason.
God’s main purpose in creating sex was for married couples (men and woman) to be fruitful and multiply. It was His first command to humankind. He’s never rescinded this command. Marital sex is to produce life! Satan’s goal is the opposite. Remember that. Whom do you serve?

This is why our children, our students are suffering so much. If your own religious bigotry gets in the way of you doing right by children, leave. But the mass exodus we're seeing RIGHT NOW from the profession is about toxic, abusive environments for teachers and students.
I can’t even imagine being a teacher in the public schools these days. Watching children change gender/pronouns and having to remember them all while being heartbroken about it πŸ’”, and the stuff they’re required to teach. I predict a huge shortage of teachers on the horizon.

#teachertwitter, I need help! I've requested a chance to address adult screaming in our school. I've found some research on the traumatic effects, but could use some additional research! TIA! #teacher #edutwitter #education
Hey, Twitter - help our students experience Hartford's Art & History by donating the cost of a coffee to our field trip bus fund! We have 7 academic trips scheduled between now & June, & many require money to pay for a bus. TIA classful.com/selmanie/ #classful_ via @classful_

This!! Also, all students should be exposed to hygiene products, and this is a great way!
Hey teachers (all teachers)β€”keep period products (pads and tampons) in your room somewhere easily accessible to students. I had a couple students thank me yesterday and tell me how few teachers keep products and how much they appreciate knowing they can get them in my room.

Hey, friends. Please help us raise funds for buses! We have really awesome opportunities for our students - art, museums, theatre, creativity, rap, poetry, history, literature, & they are all FREE! We just need help paying for the buses! Thank you! <3 classful.com/selmanie/
If you want an accurate idea of how bad this country is at math, just look at how incorrectly the education system has calculated how many minutes a day it takes to analyze standards, develop methods for teaching them to kids, create the materials to do so, reflect on lesson

social-emotional and college/career curriculums (that we're also expected to teach), collect discipline data, fill out SpEd/psych/referral forms, differentiate everything for students who speak other languages, learn differently, or are grade-levels behind, and make copies.

Spoiler: it doesn't add up to 45 minutes. That's hardly enough time for me to walk my class to unified arts, pee for the first time all day, and check the 46 emails that have arrived since starting to teach in the morning (not even respond to all of them)!
If this is any indication of how my day went, I just realized I spent the entire day teaching in two different shoes.

Enjoying a late breakfast on our first morning in paradise. #ptown #queertown @ Provincetown, Massachusetts instagram.com/p/CQWeifKA16rb…

Been on Summer break for two days and this is what I've seen in teacher Facebook groups - already getting ready for next year! Some educators are the most dedicated people I know. instagram.com/p/CQRpynhAGuo3…

When we don't talk about & celebrate queerness, children are hurt. As we approach June, consider how you've been an ally BEFORE Pride month. Are you talking about queerness? Homophobia? Heterosexism? Pride is a protest; let us live!! courant.com/breaking-news/hc…
