And in case this wasn't obvious: This is a very good thing. They're fully focusing on two players who deserve the contracts they'll get due to resume and profile as they age, and will reward the teams they sign with, which I can't say for a player like Bellinger.

I've been saying all offseason that Tucker will be a Yankee. His market compared to Belli's screamed pivot. Yankees still like him, but they wanted to resign a guy who succeeded there before they pursued for others. Bichette is interesting, but would mean Jazz is traded for SP.

What I mean by this is that the leaks the last couple of days were suggesting the Bellinger reunion wasn't gonna happen. The leaks of interest in Bichette were sent out to tell you that. Imo, main reason why these two weren't the primary focus was because Belly played well in NY.

The language that Heyman has used has constantly been evolving. It went from definitively to I think. Tuckers phrasing has also changed, which is why I believe the Yankees offseason isn’t as cut and dry as it’s been let on so far.

Blue Jays paid Cease for his Cy Young seasons. Problem is he regressed badly last year and is going to a division where he’s struggled to pitch against. One less suitor for Imai and probably one less for Kyle Tucker. Hard to see them shelling out 2 $30 mil in the same offseason.
