Looks like #GCEAF took charge of Clean Energy Ministerials and crashed it right into the bottom layer of reality in energy sector.
The Global Clean Energy Action Forum #GCEAF (This year’s Clean Energy Ministerial) is the most pro-nuclear event I have attended. And I have attended some of @Kaikenhuippu’s events.

Iso uusi on lämmöntalteenotto mm. datakeskukset!

Germany will not quit coal in 2030, Green minister announced. Security of supply is more important. But killing low carbon nuclear energy was "importanter".

Lauantai-illan mietteitä: Pohjoismaiden ja Saksan sähkön hintaero Q1/2025 futuureissa on korkein 20 vuoteen, Pohjoismaissa 42,8€/MWh halvempaa. 😳 (Joo, futuurien hintanäkymä on epätäydellinen, vesivarantotilanne voi muuttua, mutta ero silti aika huikea) montelnews.com/news/04763469…

Francois Paquet of the Renewable Hydrogen Coalition says that the most important thing needed to enable hydrogen industry globally is demand creation, eg requiring steel and ammonia to be made with hydrogen produced with renewables. #BNEFSummit

Electrolyzer costs are higher than we expected a few years back, says Sami Alisawi at the #BNEFSummit. (He says we're in the "trough of disillusionment" stage of the hydrogen hype cycle and now can start climbing out of it).

BREAKING IN NYC: WORLD'S BIGGEST BANKS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR NUCLEAR Banks and funds totaling $14 TRILLION in assets have just signed an unprecedented statement in support of nuclear power. They'll be presenting the pledge to support the goal of tripling nuclear THIS MORNING at the Rockefeller Center in New York City to kick off NY Climate Week. A few of the names: Bank of America Barclays BNP Paribas Brookfield Citi Credit Agricole Goldman Sachs Morgan Stanley Rothschild & Co The pledge comes after Microsoft signs deal to buy $16 billion in electricity from a revived Three Mile Island nuclear plant alone over 20 years to fuel its AI ambitions. I'll be covering live today from the top of the Rockefeller Center, famously built with oil profits, as this unprecedented show of support for the next great energy source overcomes long-held financing barriers.

Myös Kiina harkitsee ymmärtääkseni ETS järjestelmän laajennusta. Hiilirajamekanismilla lienee iso vaikutus.

Massiivinen muutos. Muutama nosto: 1/

Holy 💩 this scene is turning around FAST. I started #nuclear advocacy a decade ago. First 5 years I spent going into deeper and deeper despair on the situation. But the last 5 years, and especially the last year or so, has simply been exponental. Now: let's deliver.
AMAZON NOW HIRING NUCLEAR ENGINEERS All these companies claimed for years to be 100% renewable-powered. It was always untrue, and now they can't get into nuclear fast enough. They watched nuclear plants die rather than lift a finger to help. Not anymore. Time to build.
