It works! 1967 John Deere 55 combines wheat again for the first time in 43 years. Took a fair bit of sheet metal work and some new chains. Beautiful day for some nostalgic harvesting! #harvest23
Why would anyone believe a crop consultant putting pictures on here and claiming to know something that no one else does…
There is no fee for these and anyone can do exactly this.
I guess this is top-dressing. Top phos actually. Just using the #spraymar to spread some left over fertilizer.
Sure don’t see any mid-row bander patterns in this wheat crop. Never have.
“Owned 247000 acres”
No didn’t.
You don’t actually own something until there is only one name on the title. ie no mortgage. You need positive cash flow for x years to get to that point.
Til then, you think you have equity but that’s only really there if you sell.
How much residue is too much? This is lots for our area but can plant through it no problem. About a 2 in finely chopped thatch on the surface. Will keep soil cooler and reduce moisture loss
Risk of soil loss = zero. #AgTwitter
Into the “D” bags now. Thanks @BASFAgSolutions for the workout.
They are not sacks of cement-those were heavy in my concrete days.
Sure, could up-grade the air tank but then would need a planned workout instead. #AgTwitter
I don’t know what mystical creature or gremlin goes around in the 4-5 hrs I shut the drill off in the middle of the night and makes things go wonky or fail is something…and if I catch that little fucker, somebody gonna get a hurt real bad. #agtwitter
Finished up a shop job this morning while the weather dictates a pause on #plant26. What did it cost and could have done something more productive with our time?
Don’t care. They make the semi-annual job safer and easier.

Strategic tillage. Sprayed field this morning, now very shallow swipes with this 8800 field cultivator in the tiny few kochia patches. Seed tomorrow. Not sure if it will work; don’t think we can spray away this weed
Planting our home quarter today, 36th time. First piece of land we bought, 1991, from a neighbor. Many sleepless nights first few years, both working full time off farm, determined to pay it off. Enough good luck and it worked out.
Just spent two long days cleaning wheat berries for #plant26. AAC Wheatland. Likely 4 hours work for @Denny2point0
Too wet for water cannoning but another couple warm days and we’ll be at that #agtwitter
Final ride of the winter season. What a year-record high temps in March.
Went all over the state with a great group of friends. Can’t wait for fall to do it again.
Looking forward to getting home and farming now.
Aid? Come on @FCCagriculture doesn’t deliver ‘aid’ in any fashion to farmers. They will lend money, if you qualify, and expect to be paid back just like any entity that loans $.
