After more than a decade of love, healing & resistance, 4FRONT is reaching the conclusion of this chapter. This decision has been made with deep reflection & care. In the months ahead, we’ll come to an intentional close - honouring our impact and the relationships we’ve built.
After more than a decade of love, healing & resistance, 4FRONT is reaching the conclusion of this chapter. This decision has been made with deep reflection & care. In the months ahead, we’ll come to an intentional close - honouring our impact and the relationships we’ve built.
From the heart of the hood - Grahame Park Estate - to a network of collaborators across the UK and beyond, our work has always been about more than survival. It’s been about transformation, power, and building something better - together.
Now, as this chapter closes, we join a long tradition - part of the cycle of movements that rise, evolve, and make space for what comes next.
Our work doesn’t end here. It lives on in the people we’ve supported, the lessons we’ve learned, and the seeds we’ve planted.

ALT Rest In Power Sonya Massey. She should be with us today.
The senseless murder of Sonya Massey in the US has led to a communal sense of grief for Black communities across the globe.
Sonya Massey called the police for help because she thought there was an intruder in her home. When the police arrived, Sonya asked them not to hurt her, yet the interaction resulted in Deputy Sean Grayson shooting and killing her.
ALT We cannot rely on a system that is not designed to keep us safe.
Sonya was a beloved mother, daughter, and sister whose life was stolen by police violence. We demand justice and accountability for her death.
The officers involved must be held responsible. We know that police killings are not simply due to a few bad officers; Sean Grayson’s actions represent exactly what policing is designed to do: to harm, oppress, and inflict violence upon our communities.
ALT The UK is not innocent. Police killings are the most extreme outcome of a system of policing that’s day-to-day practices are inherently violent.
At 4FRONT, we support young people with experiences of violence and the criminal legal system who continue to be brutalised by the police every day.
ALT The UK is not innocent.
We honour all those who have been murdered by the police and it is our duty to fight for them.
Chris Kaba should have turned 26 yesterday.
Cherry Groce should be 75 years old.
Joy Gardner should be 71 years old.
ALT Sonya Massey was a disabled Black woman in crisis. She called for help, but instead the police executed her and called her a 'crazy b**h.’
The police are designed to be anti-Black, ableist, classist and oppressive. It is our collective duty to organise for a world liberated away from oppressive institutions, which includes the police.

Yesterday we attended a brilliant workshop ran by @OpenRightsGroup about helping young people know their data rights.
ALT 10 adults stand in front of a wall with a screen attached to it. They are all standing close to each other and are smiling towards the camera. There is a table in front of them with laptops cups and pieces of paper dotted around the table

We have forced the Met to #EraseTheDatabase ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
If we are ever to move from harm to healing, we must put an end to ALL police surveillance tools, and instead invest in community based approaches to violence that centre racial justice and liberation.
APPEAL’s investigation, by @NishaWaller4 @NSakande, reveals that the introduction of majority verdicts in England and Wales was motivated by a racist & classist desire to dilute the influence of “coloured” and “labouring class” jurors theguardian.com/law/2024/jan…

Being labelled as a gang member can have life changing consequences⚖️
Black people are 16x more likely to be prosecuted under Joint Enterprise. Racist police databases like the Gangs Matrix play a huge part in this.
This is just one of the reasons why we must #EraseTheDatabase
