Energy‑budget diagrams aren’t validated by reading direction. They’re validated by physics: boundary conditions, conservation of energy, flux divergence, heterogeneous temperatures, and radiative‑transfer equations.

Using standard ocean mass and heat capacity, 400 ZJ of added thermal energy corresponds to only about 0.07 °C global ocean warming. That’s an order of magnitude smaller than the GMST anomalies, which shows a surface‑air index, not the true global temp of the Earth system.
