And finally, the administration’s dismissive approach to climate change, even as warming temperatures expand the areas where this pest can thrive. Once again, Trump’s incoherent “America First” agenda of trade wars, aid slashing, and science denial is coming back to bite American agriculture and consumers in the wallet. MAGA gets its jollies by “owning the libs” by cutting funding for policies that protect the country against the outbreak of disease, but right now a literal flesh-eating parasite is showing up on our southern border and now we are much less prepared to handle it.
