Who I am. I am an empath. An Advocate personality. (See 16personalities.com/ ) I have a gift for empathy. I find joy in helping others. I have a gift for comforting others and the ability to console others.
1/3 Ok, strong second pet peeve of mine ( and if any of my future students do this, beware of the mass corrections and disdain that I will display) is the sentence that became a paragraph!
2/3 The attached paragraph is one the HUNDREDS of paragraphs where Ms. Rand definitely earned the title of “Queen of the Tun-on Setence.” I would also wager that she is a master in the art of using a number of dashes, commas, colons, and semicolons in a single paragraph.
A huge pet peeve I have when reading a book is the lack of brevity. When the author says the same thing multiple times in multiple ways for 70 pages of one character’s dialogue. Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged: Part 3 Ch 7 “ This is John Galt Speaking” #ifkyk

Teaching might be the only job where it’s more difficult for teachers to take the day off compared to showing up….thanks to the meticulous lesson plans and preparation needed for all possible scenarios.

I am so thankful for my students this year! They are engaged, questioning, discussing, and being civil in our class conversations! Absolutely love my students!
I am having an amazing school year! I’m teaching my favorite subject (English 3 & AP English Lang), I have the schedule I requested, and my students are awesome!! Each day may not be perfect, but I am truly blessed!
This is my official motto! I’ve always felt this and I say this to people who question my sanity for teaching high school students. The relationships I build are my motivation for coming to school every day! Thank you @TeachMrReed for saying it best!
1/ To everyone who has ever struggled with dyslexia and loss: Your road may be harder than most other people. You may think your perceived weakness will forever hold you back from achieving your dreams.
2/ BUT if you can find the strength, courage, and determination to accept and embrace your uniqueness, your creativity, your abilities - nothing in this world will stop you!
You CAN do the impossible.
You CAN overcome stigma, stereotypes, limitations.
3/3 You CAN pursue AND attain your dreams.
BUT You canNOT stop living and stop fighting for what you want! Keep up the fight and finish strong!

HOW DO LARGE CLASS SIZES AFFECT CLASSROOMS?
•Teachers have less time to support students individually and provide needed immediate feedback
•Fewer opportunities to build necessary connections
•Fewer enrichment activities
•MORE behavior issues
POV: a Florida teacher’s college tuition rant (a thread)
1/ This may upset or trigger some people, but this is my opinion and you don’t have to agree with me so please don’t attack me if you don’t agree with me, please and thank you.
9/BUT I believe educators should be able to get at least the same amount of assistance as prisoners. Yes, there is a Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program, but it only “forgives” a minimal portion and it’s hard qualifying for it. Again, if criminals can get their education for free
