The thing i hate most about twitter is that majority of people try to act like they're holier than thou and have never ever made a mistake in their entire life. You can call out someone's mistakes/bad behavior without being so pretentious and cruel

i grew up in inner city projects and so many of us were struggling to survive. we lived in an underfunded community where death was the norm and not everyone made it out. despite this cruelty, what saved us was the community we had. where people actually cared for each other

i do understand how difficult it can be to connect with people. individualistic culture is linked to lack of empathy, isolation, and the “every man for themselves” mentality which can keep people from wanting to engage with others out of fear of rejection. i get that *but*

we wouldn’t be human if we didn’t try to seek each other out. not everyone can be friends or acquainted, not every interaction is going to work out, but the beauty of it all is that we get to keep trying and learning more with time. the human experience is Vast

i also know that there are people who just don’t give a fuck for connecting with others outside of their circles and thats fine . not everyone shares comfort in the same things 😭

honestly, it’s important to have friends from all walks of life. only interacting with people who have the same exact experiences (or interests) as you can be comforting but it keeps you from expanding your worldview
its an ugly truth but having irl normie friends will save ur life

this is just a personal take that i tweeted on a whim. we are moving towards times where we are so disconnected from each other, less empathetic, and even more individualistic than ever. in my opinion, this is why so many people are lonely and struggling to really see each other

i am on the more extroverted side though, so going out of my way to befriend people out in the wild isn’t difficult for me. i can understand if it’s a different experience for people who have social anxiety. this was not a dig at anyone who struggles in social settings :)
