A nice night for a hike, the rain held off even if it was a but muddy in places. The Scouts showed some great map reading skills to get us back to the den on time.

Tonight we challenge each patrol to make 3 different cakes. Helping them develop organising, leadership and teamwork skills. Here are some of the results, the chocolate crispies seemed to magically disappear.

We’re proud that 120 Scouts aged 18-25 from across the UK have volunteered to support everyone who’ll be paying their respects to HM Queen in London this week. Scouts have a long history of supporting the nation and serving our communities: we’re honoured to play our part.

We’re deeply saddened by the death of Our Patron, HM The Queen. A dedicated supporter of Scouts, Her Majesty has been a peerless role model for our young people.  Our thoughts are with the Royal Family. scouts.org.uk/remembering-th…

Did you know that 11 of the 12 people who've walked on the Moon were Scouts? Or that in 2020 UK Scouts hiked to the Moon (and back!) to raise funds for Children in Need? Read our latest blog for the fascinating history of Scouts and the Moon: scouts.org.uk/news/2022/augu…

Just back from an amazing week in Northumberland camping with @5thDurham and Chalmers ESU. We've walked, baked, been in the sea and sung around the campfire! #SkillsForLife

Some of our older Scouts joined the Explorers in surfing last night. I wasn't there but it looks like they had a fun evening.

Last night's rain didn't stop us! A night of skiing and snowboarding at Silksworth ski slopes.

The Scouts spent the night learning how to cook on light weight stoves (Trangias). The menu was either sun dried tomato or carbonara pasta, the favourite among the Scouts was sun dried tomato.
2
Tonight some of our older Scouts joined the Explorers paddle boarding, an excellent night learning a new skill.

A good walk up Roseberry Topping, then to Captain Cooks memorial. We took our time to practice some different navigation techniques, so not many pictures. Thank you to @jaynegibson45 and @sharonvaseyblu1 for supporting us and all the parents for transport.
