The day was devoted entirely to kit inspections, cleaning of equipment, reorganizing & rearranging of billets.

At 08:15 hours the Battalion set out on the final stage of the march. The weather continued to be unsettled with considerable rain. Opprebais, our destination, was reached at 13:30 hours. The afternoon was given over to rest. #Belgium

Today's march was about the hardest march of the past four days as the roads were very muddy, & added to this there were a considerable number of hills to climb before we reached our destination, which was about 15:30 hours. #Belgium

Today the march was again resumed, the Battalion leaving Fleurus at 08:15 hours, & marched, through drizzling rain to Grand-Leez some 18 to 20 kilometers to the northeast from Fleurus #Belgium

Yesterday Church Parade was held at 10:00 hours Capt. McLeod of the 85th Battalion officiating. The remainder of the day was given over to rest. #Belgium

General Sir H.S. Rawlinson, Bart., G.C.V.O., K.C.B., K.C.M.G., commander of the 4th Army, took the salute as the Battalion marched past. He later expressed his appreciation of the splendid marching & neat appearance of the men. #Belgium

As on the two previous days on the march there were repeated showers of rain which, needless to say, made the march somewhat heavy as the roads were very muddy & the cobblestones slippery. #Belgium
