Walker Jenkins went 4-for-5 with a double and homer in his first game back from an IL stint from crashing into the CF wall. The Twins eased him into his return with some A-ball reps. He took a 93-mph sinker out to right in the 9th inning. Jenkins is a 5-tool talent that has struggled to stay healthy and sits in our Top 10 prospects.

Jenkins still needs to prove he can hit lefties. In 2026, he's hitting .229 with a .627 OPS over 41 plate appearance. 2025 was better with a .284 batting average, his .730 OPS lagged his production against RHP. While his game is more than power, he's yet to homer as a pro against lefties in 342 plate appearances.

Mike Sirota has a 50-game on-base streak after going 0-for-2 with 3 walks yesterday. His .486 OBP leads the minors and he's paired that with a .337 batting average and 29 XBH. He'll be coming to a MLB stadium near you soon. The question is with what team as the Dodgers are just so deep with outfield prospects. 80grade.com/players/125135/m…

Lazaro Montes has been filling the box score of late. He went 3-for-5 last night with a double, homer, and 5 RBI. He's 13-for-30 with 6 bombs over his last 7 games. Montes was a quick hit in our Daily Briefing today: 80grade.com/club/stack/the-d…

80grade.com/players/151252/l… Montes has an average arm and will end up in an OF corner at the Major League level. His success will depend on the quality of defense and his contact/power relationship. He's shown the ability to get on base as well lending to that 3-true-outcome profile.

Jonny Farmelo likes playing the Eugene Emeralds. In their 6-game series, the Mariners athletic outfielder went 9-for-22 with 3 homers and 6 total XBH. He also added 5 walks. The lefty swinger now has an .840 OPS on the season.

Farmelo is quick but he hasn't fared well on the bases this year, going 15-for-24. The instincts are still good and we think he'll get back on track.

Francisco Renteria has taken to pro ball. The 17 year-old outfielder took $4 million from the Phillies and has dominated in early DSL competition. He's started out 9-for-17 with 3 triples and 4 walks for a slightly scorching 1.518 OPS. He is tooled up and could be plus or better across the board. 80grade.com/players/156420/f…

Luis Pena has had a bumpy 2026. He left yesterday's 14-11 win at Cedar Rapids with an illness, helped off the field noticeably sick. This follows a missed month after fainting in the dugout in late April. The Brewers indicated that was likely due to dehydration. Pena has been a force when playing, slashing .339/.444/.441 in High-A. Hoping for a speedy recovery for this speedster.

Josue De Paula had a 3-hit night with two doubles, batting leadoff for the Tulsa Drillers in their 11-7 win. He's doing everything well in the box with a .310 average, more walks than strikeouts, and 24 XBH in 184 ABs. He's also stolen 16 bags in 19 tries. The 6 homers may be a little light for a corner OF role, but their is still plenty of power projection in his frame.

De Paula followed up his hot weekend by going 4-for-5 with 2 homers, 3 RBI, and 4 runs. He's currently ranked 5th on our Top 100: 80grade.com/prospect-ranking…

Slade Caldwell capped a 5-hit night with a walk-off bloop single last night. He's hitting .222 with a 29% strikeout rate at High-A Hillsboro so the hit tool is a bit of a question, but the speed, defense, and on-base skills give the lefty-hitting centerfielder a high floor. 80grade.com/players/126149/s…

Gage Jump is making the leap to the big leagues for the Vagabond Athletics. He will be an interesting test to see if the ultra-short arm action can work as a starting pitcher. Jump's delivery is extremely deceptive. He hides the ball well behind his body with uneven timing and a quick arm. The question will be if there are enough strikes and if he can handle a starter's workload. 80grade.com/players/124911/g…

Jump has struck out 56 over 38 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas. He's walked 20 but limited hard contact. The PCL is a tough place to pitch and he currently carries a 4.50 ERA. I'd expect some stretches of dominance as well as some growing pains in the AL West.

Nico Hoerner is the definition of a "baseball player" and sometimes a bit of an @80Grade "hot dog." @Cubs

This is an @80Grade catch by Angel Martinez. He was a 45 defender in his last two seasons but has made strides and looks like a 55 this year with an absolute cannon for an arm. 80grade.com/players/155282/a…

Angel Martinez needed to be helped up after making a tremendous catch in foul territory

Esmerlyn Valdez is getting called up by the Pirates. He's made adjustments this year, improving his swing decisions resulting in more walks and less strikeouts. He's done it while still posting one of the best ISOs of his pro career at .253. This is a success story for Pirates Player Development. Valdez has hit 5 HRs and drove in 9 in his last 5 games. 80grade.com/players/150679/e…

Valdez is best-suited for LF/DH.
