David Marshall was a decorated American soldier who served with the 84th Infantry Division during World War II. A mortarman in Company M, 3rd Battalion, 334th Infantry Regiment, Marshall fought through some of the toughest campaigns in northwest Europe.

What does your unit patch mean to you? Sgt. Aryana Rivers displays her Railsplitter patch at the 84th Training Command's headquarters. The 84th Training Command's lineage dates back to 1832. The patch features an ax splitting a log for a rail tie, hence the name Railsplitters.
