We're dropping "Backend Developer" and "Frontend Developer" titles at 8lines. These labels made sense years ago, but they no longer reflect how we build products or how we think about engineering. Here's what we're doing instead ๐

From now on, every engineer at 8lines is a Product Engineer โ with a focus area (e.g. infrastructure, mobile, platform). You own problems, not layers. This applies internally and externally: hiring, cooperation, team structure. One role, full ownership, clear focus.

It's a small change on paper. But naming shapes how people think about their work, their scope, and their responsibility. And that shapes culture. We're excited to see where this takes us.
