That was an attempt to injure and should have been 5 minute penalty

Todays game is full of embellishments , it makes the game so much harder for the refs
Players embellish to get a high-sticking penalty, of course. But when a stick touches your face, it's a natural reaction to snap your head back.
So you can question the ref for not swallowing his whistle late in a game.
It's unfair to question MacKinnon's reaction, IMO.
