Absolutely heartless. Boko Haram will stop abducting commanders if they aren’t around to order anymore. We need to take them out with everything we have. Nigeria is dying because of these terrorists.

If this is a recent video then Oyo residents should be concerned .

🇳🇬 VERIFICATION: Outdated footage of Imo deaths resurfaced as current incident. A video circulating on social media purporting to show recent killings in Imo State has been fact-checked and found to be old footage being deliberately recirculated. The misleading content gained traction across various platforms, causing public concern about fresh violence in the state. Premium Times investigation revealed the video's actual date and origin, debunking claims that it documented current attacks. This discovery highlights the persistence of misinformation in Nigeria's digital space, where outdated or repurposed content easily spreads without verification. The incident demonstrates how security incidents can be weaponized through false narratives, amplifying fear and confusion among residents. 📰 Source: Premium Times 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

Nigeria can afford at least 50 surveillance drones (at least 2 per state) for monitoring of bushes, in the fight against banditry and kidnapping but Tinubu would rather borrow money for next election campaign, pay influencers & bribe NASS

Gunmen Strike Again on Oyo Highway – Two Killed in Fresh Kishi-Igbeti Attack Fear has gripped residents in Oyo State’s Oke-Ogun area after another round of violent attacks by suspected bandits along the Kishi-Igbeti and Igboho-Igbeti roads. In the latest incident on Friday night around 9:30pm, gunmen ambushed a vehicle on the Kishi-Igbeti road, killing an electricity worker known as Moshood Kayode (popularly called “Mr. Kay”) and another person. Several others were injured. On Saturday afternoon, another attack occurred near the Old Oyo National Park along the Igbope-Igbeti axis. Heavily armed men in military camouflage opened fire on passing vehicles, including a red Volkswagen Golf and a commercial bus. Four people, including Alhaji Rafiu Jimoh and Jubril Jelili, sustained gunshot wounds but managed to escape to Igboho for treatment. Eyewitnesses said they initially thought the attackers were soldiers due to their camouflage until the shooting started. Security forces (police, NSCDC, Amotekun, and local guards) have been deployed, but residents are calling for urgent and sustained military operations to clear out these criminal elements from the area, which many believe has become a hideout for bandits and kidnappers. This level of insecurity on our highways is becoming too frequent. May God protect travelers and bring an end to this madness.

🔴 L'OCCIDENTE DORME MENTRE I CRISTIANI VENGONO MASSACRATI. E a quel punto, cosa faremo? È straziante… sia per i massacri, sia per l'apatia generale 💔 @MorEdge_Insight x.com/MorEdge_Insight/status…

🇳🇬 Military Commander's Killing: Extremists Have Reached Their Peak, State Won't Free Detained Militants — Tinubu President Tinubu has condemned the death of retired Major-General Abubakar Rabe, who was kidnapped two weeks ago while travelling to his hometown and later died in captivity. The terrorists holding him had demanded the government release three of their imprisoned members in exchange for his freedom — a demand the administration flatly rejected. This incident mirrors similar situations across Nigeria, where armed groups holding schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State made comparable demands for prisoner releases. The President's stance signals zero tolerance for terrorist negotiations, emphasizing that his government will not trade detained militants for hostages, regardless of the victims' status. 📰 Source: Daily Trust 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 DEVELOPING: Boko Haram torches educational institutions across Borno Suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters have torched two schools in Kautikari village, located in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State. The attack occurred around 7pm on Saturday, forcing residents to flee into nearby bushes for safety. Though no deaths were reported, the burning of both the Primary School and Day Secondary School marked a shift in tactics, as the same village had experienced previous attacks without such property destruction. This latest incident compounds ongoing security challenges in the region, particularly following the month-long abduction of students from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in neighboring Askira-Uba. The escalation signals a dangerous evolution in how armed groups are targeting educational infrastructure in the Northeast. 📰 Source: Daily Trust 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 Insurgent group ignites educational facilities in Chibok region Suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP militants have torched multiple schools in Kautikari village, located in Chibok local government area of Borno State. The attackers stormed the community around 7pm on Saturday, targeting both primary and secondary educational facilities. Though no deaths were reported, the invasion forced residents to scramble into nearby bush areas for cover. This latest assault follows weeks of tension after pupils from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba were kidnapped and held for close to a month. Chibok has become a recurring target for these terror groups, though residents noted that previous attacks in the area had largely spared public infrastructure from deliberate destruction. Security officials confirmed the incident, but state authorities had not yet made an official statement as of the report's filing time. 📰 Source: Daily Post 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 Nigeria's Defence Minister attributes global weapons scarcity to Israeli-Iranian and Russian-Ukrainian conflicts Nigeria's Defence Minister, General Christopher Musa (retired), has blamed ongoing international conflicts—particularly the Israel-Iran tensions and the Russia-Ukraine war—for creating a global arms shortage that's hampering Nigeria's ability to purchase critical military equipment. Speaking at the Nigerian People's Strategic Conference and Defence Exhibition 2026 in Abuja, Musa emphasized that these geopolitical tensions have disrupted the supply chain for military hardware worldwide. Beyond external factors, the minister also highlighted a major domestic challenge: the absence of a comprehensive national database that's crippling law enforcement agencies, especially the Nigeria Police Force, in their efforts to track criminals and prevent crimes effectively. 📰 Source: Daily Post 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 2027: APC Will Not Reconsider Primary Outcomes – Party to Conclude Candidate Selection The All Progressives Congress has firmly decided against reviewing results from its primary elections, moving ahead to submit its final candidate list to the Independent National Electoral Commission for the 2027 general elections. This decision comes despite numerous complaints and petitions from disappointed aspirants who claim the process was marred by manipulation and imposition by party officials. The ruling party has already completed work on the results at its national secretariat and is preparing to upload the candidates' names to INEC's portal, effectively closing any window for fresh appeals or demands for new primary elections. Many aggrieved members across various constituencies are now facing a situation where their objections will not be entertained, leaving them with limited options moving forward. 📰 Source: Kemi Filani 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 Peter Obi Claims Victory in 2023 Presidential Race Despite Lacking Gubernatorial Support Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, has pushed back against worries about President Tinubu's growing gubernatorial support ahead of 2027, arguing that governors aren't the kingmakers in Nigerian elections. Speaking on NoireTV, Obi pointed to his 2023 performance as proof that what matters is grassroots appeal, not political machine backing. The former Anambra governor highlighted how he won in multiple states despite having zero sitting governors in his corner during that contest. Obi's statement essentially reframes the conversation around 2027 — he's saying the narrative about who has which governor is overblown noise. His argument rests on a specific reading of 2023: that he succeeded because ordinary Nigerians voted for him, not because party structures carried him. Whether this holds water for 2027 remains to be seen, but Obi is clearly trying to build confidence among his supporters that the governor arithmetic doesn't seal anyone's fate. The timing of this pushback suggests mounting concern within the NDC camp about Tinubu's consolidation of state-level power. Obi's message to followers is straightforward: governors may look powerful on paper, but elections are still won on the ground. It's an attempt to keep morale up and remind people that votes, not backroom deals, determine who becomes president. 📰 Source: Sun News 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 Ijaw and Itsekiri communities reach accord on authority distribution for Warri Federal Constituency Following President Bola Tinubu's intervention, the Ijaw and Itsekiri communities in Delta State have resolved a longstanding dispute over representation in the proposed Warri Federal Constituency II. The agreement was brokered during a crucial meeting led by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, bringing together leaders from both ethnic groups to hammer out acceptable terms. Under the power-sharing arrangement, the House of Representatives seat will alternate between the two communities on a rotational basis, with the Ijaw taking the position for two consecutive terms before handing over to the Itsekiri for the same duration. The deal addresses tensions that emerged from INEC's ward delineation exercise, which had threatened to spark deeper political friction between these two important Delta communities. Both groups have historically competed for dominance in the Warri axis, making this negotiated settlement a significant diplomatic achievement. The agreement essentially recognizes the political weight and cultural significance of both the Ijaw and Itsekiri in the region's governance structure. This resolution demonstrates the willingness of community leaders to prioritize stability over winner-takes-all politics. By institutionalizing rotation, the power-sharing formula gives both groups concrete assurance of representation and reduces the likelihood of post-election disputes. The intervention at the highest levels of government underscores how critical electoral peace is to Nigeria's overall political stability. 📰 Source: Daily Post 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 Relatives appeal for freedom of 13 kidnapped Borno commuters following two months of detention Thirteen travellers who were abducted two months ago along a major Borno road corridor remain missing, with their families now making desperate public appeals for intervention. The victims were seized on April 15 when armed insurgents suspected to be from ISWAP or Boko Haram attacked two vehicles traveling the Biu-Buratai-Kamuya route, whisking passengers into the bush. A family spokesperson, Hassan Yati, addressed journalists at the NUJ Press Centre in Maiduguri on Saturday, pressing security agencies and government to step up rescue operations and break the troubling silence about the captives' situation. The families, still waiting for concrete progress despite some recent rescue efforts, are growing increasingly anxious about the safety and condition of their loved ones. 📰 Source: Daily Post 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 Zamfara law enforcement recovers three kidnapped persons on Gusau–Anka highway On June 13, 2026, the Zamfara State Police Command's Violence Crime Response Unit successfully intervened in a kidnapping incident along the Gusau-Anka road. Armed bandits had blocked the highway and abducted three travellers who were heading from Bukuyum to Talata Mafara. Upon receiving a distress alert, police operatives quickly mobilized and pursued the kidnappers into a forest area where an armed confrontation took place. The swift response demonstrated the command's commitment to tackling the kidnapping menace that has plagued the northwestern state, though the full details of the operation remained incomplete in available reports. 📰 Source: Sun News 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa

🇳🇬 BREAKING: Widow of Slain General Remains in Captors' Hands Hajiya Amina Abubakar, widow of retired Major General Abubakar Rabe, remains in the hands of kidnappers nearly a year after their abduction. The couple was ambushed on May 30, 2026, along the Marabar Musawa–Kafinsoli road in Katsina State's Matazu Local Government Area. A disturbing four-minute video later circulated showing both hostages alive, with Hajiya Amina delivering her captors' demands to authorities. The bandits have made their intentions clear through the video message, demanding the release of three gang members — identified as Sani, Aminu, and Nasiru — who are currently detained in different locations. Two of the arrested individuals were picked up in Jikamshi, while details about the third remain unclear from available information. The captors also seized livestock during the initial ambush, adding economic loss to the family's ordeal. The prolonged captivity raises serious concerns about the security situation in northwest Nigeria and authorities' ability to negotiate or secure hostage releases. Hajiya Amina's continued detention, months after her husband's fate became unknown, underscores the vulnerability of even prominent citizens to armed gangs operating in the region. Her case joins dozens of similar abductions plaguing Katsina and neighboring states. 📰 Source: Daily Trust 🔗 naijadailyupdate.ng/story.ph… Via @9jaDailyUpdates #NaijaNews #Nigeria #BreakingNews #Politics #Bandits #Insecurity #NigerianArmy #Election #News #Africa
