A new @AAUP report says full-time faculty salaries effectively declined despite nominal raises, with women still earning substantially less than men and pay disparities varying widely by rank and institution type. theeduledger.com/institution…
Why is billionaire CEO Marc Rowan using company resources for a private political campaign attacking colleges & universities?

The AAUP is doing what SACSCOC apparently will not. Thank God!
Faculty across Texas have raised concerns about censorship, political interference, program closures, and attacks on shared governance. Those concerns deserve independent scrutiny. If accreditors won't act, someone must.

If you think things can't get any worse in higher ed, just look at the predatory behavior of for profit schools and extension programs to see what a curriculum NOT controlled by faculty looks like.

Cue Auburn joining the new “state run” accreditation group, the CPHE, after it thumbs its nose at a primary SACS standard. And oh yeah, ending a faculty senate and creating a prez board is what got Spartanburg CC censured by @aaup (I was on that investigation)

They expect us to see this kind of thing going on around the country and then nod when we’re told “oh no what we’re doing has nothing to do with that”?

This is a disgrace. Shame on The New School. Firing workers without cause is always a disgrace, but to let go of tenured faculty of color and those in the humanities? Shameful
In the last 48 hours, The New School has fired almost two dozen of our colleagues — full-time faculty and staff — in humanities and social sciences, many of them tenured faculty of color, and multiple staff members, including in social justice.

You see the display of even basic symbols expressing the dignity of our students would be an unacceptable political stance and violation of neutrality. It has nothing to do with the national environment

Faculty, alumni, and community leaders across the Texas A&M System are sounding the alarm on censorship, political interference, and attacks on academic freedom.
At the inaugural TAMU “Year in Review" discussion, speakers warned that SB 37 and System Policy 08.01 are creating fear, chilling classroom discussion, and weakening shared governance across Texas universities.
Higher education cannot thrive under political intimidation.
Speak out.
Share your stories of censorship.
Defend the freedom to teach and learn.
Support policymakers and elected officials defending academic freedom.

Thrilled to see PSC Executive Council member @DrSusanLK appointed by @NYCMayor to the Commission on Government Efficiency. Dr. Kang’s decades-long impact on helping to lead political reforms in New York and her academic credentials make her an excellent choice for COGE.
