Now millions of retirement accounts will be forced to buy SpaceX stock, no matter the price, no matter the risk. Heads he wins, tails you lose.

This is the playbook, here and there. Workers' money gets handed to the people at the top to "invest."
When their bets pay off, sure— you might see some crumbs. But when they lose, it comes out of YOUR money. Every time, every industry: mismanaged pension funds, corporate bailouts, rules rewritten so one man's IPO could mint the world's first trillionaire.

Across 16 cities, Albertans are heading into the streets to protest, and some actions are already underway.
Whether you're out there because of the out-of-control cost of living, the privatization of healthcare, the abuse of the notwithstanding clause, the blatant corruption, the cuts to disability supports, the threat to poison and suck up our water and through AI data centres and coal mining at our headwaters, or the threat of separation— we're all out here for the same reason.
We've got a provincial government that has stopped listening, and today we get loud enough that they have to.

Alberta's historic province-wide protest on Friday, May 29, is not just about protesting separatism.
It's about protesting the many other things making life harder for working Albertans — a frozen minimum wage, two-tier health care, continued threats to pull Alberta out of CPP, AI data centres draining our water and coal mining polluting it, cuts to disability benefits, and SO much more.

May 29 comes exactly one week after the International Court of Justice ruled the right-to-strike is guaranteed under international treaties Canada has signed.
The Smith government ignored the Canadian constitution to strip 51,000 Alberta teachers of that right. Let that be one more reason to protest on Friday — to defend worker rights and bargaining power in the middle of an affordability crisis.
