This government has been dismantling healthcare, attacking workers' rights, scapegoating immigrants, and ignoring Indigenous rights— all while flirting with separation and taking notes from Donald Trump. Albertans are done watching. On May 29, 2026, we're showing up. Nurses, teachers, union and non-union workers, parents, students, Indigenous community members, artists — all of us, together, for a province-wide day of protest. This movement is led by you. Sign up at fightbacknow.ca to get involved with the May 29 day of protest.

Elon Musk demanded the rules be changed so his company could be fast-tracked into the market. They listened, and SpaceX just IPO'd at $1.77 trillion—the biggest IPO in history. Now millions of retirement accounts will be forced to buy SpaceX stock, no matter the price, no matter the risk. Heads he wins, tails you lose.

This is the playbook, here and there. Workers' money gets handed to the people at the top to "invest." When their bets pay off, sure— you might see some crumbs. But when they lose, it comes out of YOUR money. Every time, every industry: mismanaged pension funds, corporate bailouts, rules rewritten so one man's IPO could mint the world's first trillionaire.

None of this is an anomaly. Musk gets the rules rewritten, Smith passes laws to protect the powerful, and in both cases the risk lands on the same people it always lands on. Workers fund all of it. We gotta start acting like it. ✊

Showing up matters more than ever. This government comes after workers and it comes after queer and trans Albertans too. We are stronger together, and we are fighting back. Pride season is happening all across Alberta this year, from Fort McMurray to Banff, running June all the way through October. Whether you're marching in a parade, attending a festival, or just showing up to be counted, we want to see you there! Find the full list of 2026 Pride events near you here: afl.org/events/2026-pride-se… Know of an event we missed? Send us a note and we'll get it added to the list!

Happy Pride Month, Alberta! 🏳️‍🌈   In Alberta right now, queer rights and workers rights are both under attack — and the labour movement is fighting back on both fronts. Organized labour has always stood with the 2SLGBTQ community, and that's not changing. Not now, not ever. ✊✊✊

This is their land, not ours. And in standing up for themselves and their land, they stood up for all of us in the fight against separation. Thank you to our Indigenous siblings. Solidarity ✊ ✊ ✊ Clip from the Edmonton rally during the AFL's Province-wide Day of Protest on May 29.

Not that it really matters, but since there’s debate in the replies… The separatists and the pro-Canada/anti-UCP folks both had midday rallies recently. I was at both. The Fight Back one today was at least 10 times the size. #ableg #cdnpoli

Danielle smith really just posted herself speaking to her wealthy donors in a fancy mansion less than a day after tens of thousands of working Albertans took to the streets to protest her government working for everyone BUT ordinary Albertans. You can't make this up.

Alberta, you were UNREAL today!! ✊🔥 Packed streets, full squares, loud crowds! You showed the whole province what we can do when we move together. And the best part about it is that we’re just getting warmed up. We couldn’t be more proud. Just like the rallies in communities across Alberta, this movement is led by YOU. Tell us where we take it next👇 menti.com/al2ad3q8v2pk

🚨 TODAY'S THE DAY, ALBERTA. Across 16 cities, Albertans are heading into the streets to protest, and some actions are already underway. Whether you're out there because of the out-of-control cost of living, the privatization of healthcare, the abuse of the notwithstanding clause, the blatant corruption, the cuts to disability supports, the threat to poison and suck up our water and through AI data centres and coal mining at our headwaters, or the threat of separation— we're all out here for the same reason. We've got a provincial government that has stopped listening, and today we get loud enough that they have to. Find your action ✊ fightbacknow.ca

Alberta's historic province-wide protest on Friday, May 29, is not just about protesting separatism. It's about protesting the many other things making life harder for working Albertans — a frozen minimum wage, two-tier health care, continued threats to pull Alberta out of CPP, AI data centres draining our water and coal mining polluting it, cuts to disability benefits, and SO much more.

May 29 comes exactly one week after the International Court of Justice ruled the right-to-strike is guaranteed under international treaties Canada has signed. The Smith government ignored the Canadian constitution to strip 51,000 Alberta teachers of that right. Let that be one more reason to protest on Friday — to defend worker rights and bargaining power in the middle of an affordability crisis. Join us and thousands of Albertans for a historic province-wide protest. Find an action near you at fightbacknow.ca ✊ ✊ ✊ ✊
