I just discovered that at least as of MacOS Tahoe 26.1 the Finder FINALLY has "Resize columns to fit filenames" (available via Show View Options). I have wanted this since I first started using Macs. No more manually resizing columns to read filenames 10,000 times a day!

Final Cut Pro 11.1 has been released. youtube.com/watch?v=DLf-iAIq… The team put a lot of thought into adjustment layers. We can now quickly replace multicam clips with source media. And draggable markers —finally!

Apple previewed an "upcoming version of Final Cut Pro" with auto captions and a Magnetic Mask. We'll likely be introduced to this new version, likely FCP 11, at the FCP Creative Summit in two weeks. #PostChat Final Cut Pro FCPX #FCPX #FinalCutPro @Apple FCP @FMC_Conferences #FCPCreativeSummit

Remember that people will want stories and experiences from humans especially as we trend towards being more and more isolated in our personal lives. No one is made happier by finding out the thing they’re connecting with was not made by a human.

Replying to @OpenAI
Prompt: “Animated scene features a close-up of a short fluffy monster kneeling beside a melting red candle. the art style is 3d and realistic, with a focus on lighting and texture. the mood of the painting is one of wonder and curiosity, as the monster gazes at the flame with wide eyes and open mouth. its pose and expression convey a sense of innocence and playfulness, as if it is exploring the world around it for the first time. the use of warm colors and dramatic lighting further enhances the cozy atmosphere of the image.”

A year ago Sam Woodhall [who I started my own (old) YouTube channel with years ago] interviewed me about the business of video editing. He now has a brand new channel, Post Box, and has released this interview. There’s a few good bits in here: youtube.com/watch?v=Y5s_weR0…

Organization is what sets editors apart from "people who edit", and yes, there IS a difference.

It always feels weird to see my name in credits in Korean but it's weirder to see @ACE_imagination's name in Korean credits. 🤣 Well done Gabe! 🙏👏 #Editor #KoreanFilm #EndCredit

"If you can't afford to pay people properly for their work then you should just do it yourself" Pay your editors. It's that simple. I've been working on a video that talks about this with editor @ACE_imagination who said it best. Should be out early next year.

1/2 I’ve been saying for some time that keywords, ratings, multicam, Motion Templates and the magnetic timeline continue to be excellent reasons to use Final Cut Pro today. Other NLEs have multicam of course but they don’t do it as well…

2/2 Other NLEs have graphics integration but it’s generally not as solid. But editors today need to DO more, not just be faster and more organized. We badly need modern features. In terms of audio mixing, we badly need features from 40 years ago
