Hello and welcome back to school! We’ve nearly finished our first full week and we’ve had lots of fun getting to know each other and our new classroom! This is our classroom for the year where we will be carrying out our learning whilst having fun☺️
Miss Manock
This week our class had an amazing time learning about Stone Age cave drawings. We attempted to design some of our own to be put on display in our classroom.
Wonderful work all! :)
Hello! All pupils have been given their Bug Club and TTRS details. If you are having issues logging in and completing the activities, please just let me know. Thank you so much for your support! :)
The rain doesn’t stop us! We had such a fabulous time at the beach even if it was raining the whole time! Lots of fun with friends, cricket and shell collecting!🏏🏖
Today in English we started to write ideas leading up to our eye witness account. We are talking about what we would be thinking if we saw a giraffe for the first time! Why does it have such a long neck?🦒
Super proud moment today for some of the year 3 girls who have been chosen to participate in a football tournament this afternoon and represent our school. Go smash it girls !⚽️👏🏼
MINIMART!
Thank you to our fabulous year 6 pupils who put together a mini mart for us to take part in today with lots of different activities with all the money made going to a brilliant cause! We had a blast!💧☀️
We’ve had a lovely morning at church this morning making our way around the prayer stations. We looked round all 16 and chose 4 that meant the most to us and had a go while thinking about the ourselves and the people around us⛪️
TASTE TESTING
Before we decide which dips we want to create we had to have a little taste test of the different types of dips. Hummus, salsa and tzatiki. I was very proud of all the children for trying all the dips!

What a brilliant start to DT week. This week we are looking at different dips and the nutritious value in them. We have been practicing the different techniques ready to create our own dips next week!🧅🧄 #AltyDT
Today, as part of our Design Technology project, we learned some food preparation skills. This included cutting, peeling, juicing and grating. Well done Swallows, you were super sensible 🥕🍊🍌
King’s coronation
We had a party on the playground to celebrate the Kings coronation. We shared cucumber sandwiches, jam tarts, and delicious cupcakes. We really enjoyed celebrating with the whole school. Thank you to our amazing parents for providing our tasty treats! 🧁🍿👑
In Geography last week, we have looked at weathering and the effect it has on landforms. We put salt and chalk into a container and gave it a big shake. We observed the effects of weathering as the chalk broke down into smaller pieces (like rock does!)🪨🌧️❄️
Today we collaborated with Doves class in an outdoor capacity and volume lesson. We had to look at the capacity of a jug and then the volume of water it held. The children worked hard to get round all 20 jugs! 💧
