Great to join @MScroghamMP on a visit to Yarlside Stores.
It’s easy to focus on challenges facing convenience but this visit was a powerful reminder of the positive impact local shops deliver every day - supporting fundraisers to providing essential services for older customers
Great to engage with the Department for Business and Trade and the Low Pay Commission this week, making sure the voice of local shops is heard.
We brought retailers directly into policy discussions and helped shape thinking on zero-hours contracts and third-party harassment.
Proud to see ACS’ campaigning recognised in government action on tackling rogue traders.
£30 million in funding, including £6 million for Trading Standards, is a crucial step forward in strengthening enforcement and protecting responsible retailers.

We're pleased to have signed this open letter along with other business leaders, condemning all forms of antisemitism. The convenience sector is a place where everyone should be welcome.
ACS has promoted Chris Noice and Jordan Newfield to new roles in External Affairs, further strengthening its campaigning voice to government.

From May 1st, the CMA will be enforcing against those who are not signed up to the scheme or not reporting their fuel prices.

The widespread coverage of illicit mini-marts and pop-up shops will be concerning for legitimate retailers who don't want to be tarred with the same brush.
We're committed to stopping these rogue traders.
We’re backing tens of millions in extra funding for Trading Standards to crack down on the rogue traders that are causing major damage to communities across the country.
After years of campaigning for better protections for colleagues in stores, and tougher sanctions for thieves, the Crime and Policing Act has finally received Royal Assent, marking a turning point in the battle against retail crime.
The Prime Minister today spoke about the measures being introduced in the Crime and Policing Bill, including a scrapping of the £200 shop theft threshold.
The Bill is welcome, but ultimately the biggest difference in communities will be a consistent police presence.
