Thank you to my awesome lab for coming out in support today! I am so grateful for the camaraderie and encouragement this group has provided during my training. I couldn't ask for a better crew to learn from and work alongside. #PhDone #MyVillage

Our deeper dive into #fibroids and subtypes of #pretermbirth just snuck into e-print (open source): bmcpregnancychildbirth.biome…. Supplements our earlier look at gestational age and birthweight (ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…) in the @RFTS_Study. Abstract below; still reassuring.

Last week, a fellow called in response to a consult. When she realized I was an intern, she slowed down & taught me about her recs. Today I got called for a consult & realized I was speaking with an MS3, so I did the same thing. Culture comes from the top down. Lead by example.

What a great highlight of recent @VanderbiltMSTP graduate @KevinGraepel and his work on coronaviruses and #COVID19!
You could say Kevin Graepel (@VanderbiltMSTP '20) is something of a coronavirus expert. After all, not every med student spends four years researching coronavirus replication... Read Graepel's story and how he chose to fight the pandemic at ow.ly/8bOS50A0hDr. #vandymed

My friends are awesome! Expect an excellent (and aesthetically pleasing) talk from my friend @NicholasStrayer at #rstudioconf next year😀
Since it appears to be the time to announce it: I am just crazy honored/excited to be giving an invited talk at #rstudioconf 2020. I will be talking about how developing an #rstats package in parallel w/ methodology research can serve to enhance both.

A new article looking at the limitations of pregnancy “due dates”. It mentions our finding that among spontaneous pregnancies from healthy women, when we measured gestational age by ovulation we saw five weeks of variability in delivery dates. Cool, right? 🤓
How accurate is your due date? Not very, according to research, and my n=2 experience. But it's still a vital data point for tracking pregnancy. My latest for @NYTParenting, with thanks to @KPobgyndoc @cmpettker @kanelow @AnneMarieJukic parenting.nytimes.com/pregna…
